Roll Muddy River Lyrics

Roll muddy river roll on muddy river roll on
I've got a notion you'll go to the ocean alone
Cause I've got a baby in Tennessee who's long been awaitin' for little ole me
So roll muddy river roll on muddy river roll onNew Orleans on to ole St Louis stopped in Memphis Minneapolis too
Back in Nashville I'll be through so roll muddy river roll on
Roll muddy river roll....I love you but just call it fate you and I are gonna separate
You'll be here but she won't wait so roll muddy river roll on
Roll muddy river roll....
So roll muddy river roll on muddy river roll on
So roll muddy river roll on muddy river roll on
So roll muddy river roll on muddy river roll on

Proclaimed the International Ambassador of Country Music thanks to his world tours in the '70s, George Hamilton IV began his career in the late '50s as a teen-oriented pop star. After his first hit, "A Rose and a Baby Ruth," hit number six on the pop charts in 1956, he toured with Buddy Holly and the Everly Brothers. However, his later pop efforts stalled on the charts, and in 1959, Hamilton joined the Grand Ole Opry.
