Rollercoaster Lyrics

I still haven't got over it even now
I want to spend huge amounts of time on my own
Don't want to cause any serious damage
Want to make sure that I can manage'Cause I'm not really in your head
I'm not really in your headAnd I see love and disaffection
The clouds build up won't pass over
This is my road to my redemptionAnd my life is just an image of a rollercoaster anywayI still haven't got over it even now
I want to spend huge amounts of time in my room
And I'm not comin' out till I feel I'm ready
I'm not running out while my heart's unsteadyAnd I'm not really in your head
I'm not really in your headAnd when your sky falls to minus zero
Some things must disappear
Oh, this is my road to my redemptionAnd my life is just an image of a rollercoaster anyway
And the names may have been changed but the faces are the same
And the names may have been changed but as people we're not the sameAnd I'm not, no, I'm not
No, I'm not really in your headAnd my life is just an image of a rollercoaster anyway
Yeah, my life is just an image of a rollercoaster anyway

Everything But the Girl (EBTG), was a Hull, Yorkshire, UK, folk-pop / trip-hop duo of Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn. They débuted with a single for a Cole Porter cover, Night And Day (Mar 1982, Cherry Red). Their final album was Temperamental (Sept 1999, Virgin). Ben met Tracey when they were at Hull University and she was singing in pop girl-band Marine Girls. Ben contributed a photograph, for a forthcoming album cover, after which, the pair became partners (later getting married).
