Masamune is a death metal/thrash band out of southeastern Massachusetts. Formed in 2009, this band brings a unique style of music that is not seen enough in the Massachusetts metal scene. With melodic leads and heavy breakdowns, Masamune mixes their metal instincts with expert musicianship, giving them a sound that is reminiscent of groups like Between the Buried and Me and Protest the Hero. Started under a different name by guitarist Jason Petrucci and bassist Zach Lacasse in 2008, vocalist Adam Waz added his brand of chilling screams shortly thereafter.
