Roun' The Globe Lyrics

The whole damn world is country...
The whole damn world is country...[Skinny DeVille]
Yeah...
Aww man, the grass done got green on the other side of the fence
So I hopped my ass over to see if I was convinced
Fast paced city life, but country livin's the sense
Cop me a Caddy say to hell with a Benz
Benz, Benz, twenty inch rims
I can't leave the vertical grill back at the ranch
Got a "Phat" farm with with cows and whole lotta land
Twenty acres (???)[B. Stille]
Meanwhile up in the D where they hollowin up dope
And thugs blow weed in the park when the club close
In Mil-waukee the beats it petro
Off in D.C., the streets is ghetto
Let's roll - to Cali where they chief the best 'dro
And drive cars so big you can't reach the pedal
Never had a glass of purple juice for breakfast

Until I took my ass to Houston, Texas, that's country![Chorus]
The whole damn world is country
Been all around the globe from Monday to Sunday
y'all the same folk we see in Kentucky (it must mean)
The whole damn world is country
Been all around the globe from Monday to Sunday
y'all the same folk we see in Kentucky (it must mean)
The whole damn world is country[Big V]
(???) they was sportin, Jordans and Waltons
Went in for the cage, and winded up staying
In Kentucky it was meth but Miami they was basing
Rap my ass off then I'll see ya at the Bassment
Hit VA, where they do nothing but cook
Carolina, Indiana, Alabama, Savannah
Boston, Denver, and all points between
Tennesse, Florida, ain't nothing love for ya[R. Prophit]
Now shake it, bounce, sit back and let ya hair blow
Spanish chicas waving, hasta luego
Pearl white drop, weather's bueno
They say opposites attract, I'm a moreno
(whispered: ???) so clear
(whispered: ???) my clear
(???) girl, all she want to do is (???)
Top of the hill, take the breath from her lungs
(Country boys been overseas)
Toppin it off, London, Germany[Chorus][R. Prophit]
Now shake it, bounce, sit back and let ya hair blow
Ladies make ya hands clap like bueno
Now shake it, bounce, sit back and let ya hair blow
Holla atcha boy, hasta luego...[Scales]
I'll prolly say a prayer for those that come back
Might could throw somethin on the grill when you come back
Might could take a trip to the 'Ville and then back
We can all get loose on the 'Ports, and of course
Hit Churchill Downs and throw some on a horse
Or we can hit them Saint Claire waters
You ain't seen country till you been through Georgia
God durn, they still got girls with perms (dang)
Big cars, big wheels is the biggest concern[Ron Clutch]
My old Kentucky home, I was
born and raised on catfish and corn, collard greens and fatback
It's country than a mug, don't care where ya stay
Ya got country in ya blood if ya love 'em and that's that
Circled the globe, met the important and paid
Now I know for a fact that...[Chorus] 2X

Nappy Roots are an American hip hop sextet that originated in Kentucky in 1995, best known for their hit 2002 single "Awnaw". Their music can be categorized as alternative Southern rap.

The members of the group met while studying at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The group consists of Kentucky and Oakland, California natives Skinny DeVille, B. Stille, Ron Clutch, Big V, R. Prophet, and Fishscales.

Their debut album Country Fried Cess was released in 1998. Eventually, they were signed to the major label Atlantic Records and rose to fame with their first album on the label, 2002's Watermelon, Chicken & Gritz. The album featured the singles "Headz up", "Awnaw" (whose remix featured Marcos Curiel), and "Po' Folks" (featuring Anthony Hamilton). Their next album Wooden Leather, released in 2003, featured the singles "Roun' the Globe" and "Sick and Tired" (featuring Anthony Hamilton). This critically acclaimed, major label follow up album, "Wooden Leather" featured production from Kanye West, David Banner and Lil Jon.

Since the release of Wooden Leather they are back to being independent artists, and have started their own label, N.R.E.G (Nappy Roots Entertainment Group) with distribution through Fontana/Universal Music Group. On July 31, 2007, they released their first album as independent artists, Innerstate Music featuring singles "Good Day" and "Keep It Real". This was actually an internet album, similar to a modern day mixtape. It was intended to be a precursor to their 2008 album, The Humdinger which was released on August 5th 2008.

In 2008, the Nappy Roots returned to the spotlight with an internet campaign targeting the mega-popular hip-hop sites such as Allhiphop, HiphopDX, Sohh, 2dopeboyz, Dubcnn, XXL Mag and BallerStatus, etc.[3] The critically-acclaimed album, The Humdinger features guest appearances from Anthony Hamilton, Greg Nice, Greg Street and Slick & Rose, with production from Sol Messiah, Groove Chambers, Big Al, Joe Hop and more. The Humdinger entered the Billboard Rap Charts at #7 and R&B/Hip-Hop Albums at #13.

Nappy Roots last toured across the country on the "Pursuit of Nappyness" tour. Fish Scales, Skinny DeVille, and Big V began their Humdinger Winter Tour on January 14, 2009 in Chicago, IL.

In 2009, NREG anticipates the release of 40 Akerz from Fish Scales and Skinny DeVille as well as an independent project from Big V.

Nappy Roots will kick off 2010 with their highly anticipated new album, "Pursuit of Nappiness", due to release April 20, 2010. The album will feature songs produced by a quickly emerging production duo from Atlanta, GA by the name of Phivestarr Productions.
