‘Round Midnight Lyrics

It begins to tell 'round midnight, midnight
I do pretty well, till after sundown
Supper time I'm feelin' sad
But it really gets bad 'round midnightMemories always start 'round midnight
Haven't got the heart to stand those memories
When my heart is still with you
And old midnight knows it tooWhen a quarrel we had needs mending
Does it mean that our love is ending
Darlin', I need you, lately I find
You're out of my heart and I'm out of my mindLet our hearts take wings 'round midnight, midnight
Let the angels sing for your returning
Till our love is safe and sound a
And old midnight comes around

Ella Jane Fitzgerald (April 25, 1917 in Newport News, VA – June 15, 1996), also known as Lady Ella (the First Lady of Song), was one of the most influential jazz singers of the 20th Century, the winner of thirteen Grammy Awards, the National Medal of Art presented by President Ronald Reagan and the Presidential Medal of Freedom presented by President George H. W. Bush. Gifted with a three-octave vocal range, she was noted for her purity of tone, near faultless phrasing and intonation, and a "horn-like" improvisational ability, particularly in her scat singing.
