Rumours (Not True) Lyrics

Rings, rings on your fingers, bells on my toes
Yet I hear no music
Shouldn't we be jangling to and fro?
I hear no musicFortune teller, please rub, rub your crystal ball
My love, my love, I'm gonna lose her
Things seem to be hazy, good gosh, is that my life?
Oh, magician, wave your wand
'Cause I'm feeling disarrayed, yeahRumours, they were not true
What they said about me to you, no
Rumours, they were not true
What they said about me to you, noI hear the music
You always made mountains out of mole hills
Yes, you did
News spread like wild fire
News spread like wild fireIf I could turn back the clock
I would prove to you that, yes, I will that
I'm no two timer, I'm no liarSince you've washed your hands off of me, yeah
Of what I've got to offer

Got to go back to the start
Now that we are apart
Love once true has now fallen throughOver my face hangs a cloud
Sad eyes filled with rain
Pours down my body of drought
Another lesson has been taught
I stand alone and count my loss, yeahSo I've got to keep cool
Gotta keep cool, gotta keep cool, yeah
Render my love and you refused it
Gotta keep cool, gotta keep cool
Got to keep, gotta keep cool
Render my love and you disapproved itRumours, they were no true
What they said about me to you, no
Rumours, they were no true
What they said about me to you, noRumours, they're no true
What they said about me to you, no
Rumours, they were no true
What they said about me to you, noGotta keep cool, gotta keep cool
Gotta keep cool, gotta keep cool
Gotta keep cool, gotta keep cool
Gotta keep cool, yeahWere not true, when them say, them say
Were not true, when them say, them say
Were not true, when them say, them say
Were not true, when them say

Probably the UK's most highly-regarded roots reggae outfit, Steel Pulse originally formed at Handsworth Wood Boys School, Birmingham, and comprised David Hinds (lead vocals, guitar), Basil Gabbidon (lead guitar, vocals) and Ronnie McQueen (bass). However, it is Hinds who, as songwriter, has always been the engine behind Steel Pulse, from their early days establishing themselves in the Birmingham club scene onwards.
