Runaway
Matthew 6:33-34
Mind full of thoughts,
I can't put to words on this blank paper.
Inside I want to know what,
what is happening.
This life is good,
this life is hard,
truth makes it harder.
Ignorance is bliss,
young is innocence,
but now I know better.
Why can't- can't You tell me,
Lord, what tomorrow holds?
I know that- that You told me, don't worry,
but I'm just trying to hold on.
Caught up- up in life's rush,
how do I slow down?
Could I just- just for one day,
run away from this mess I've made here?
Close my eyes, dream far,
reckless heart of scars.
Nothing seems stable.
Empty bravery,
clutching onto dreams on this life's journey.
Packing up, move out.
Hide the tears, go on. Nobody's watching.
Give me advice. Must I decide?
Figure out what is right.
You said in Your word,
ask and You will open the door.
But let me, dear Lord,
not forget to give this up to You.
