Rust Lyrics

Wish that you were here
Down amongst the dust
I need someone to help me
Yeah, I need someone to trustThere's something in these tears
Turning me to rust
I need someone to help me
Yeah, I need someone to touchGive me one more try
And I'll come flaking back to you
Wish that you were here
I wish that it was trueI can feel stars
Shooting through my heart like rain
Leaving all the scars
Where the pleasure turns to painPoint me in the light
Of a bright and a shining right direction
And then take me home againJust when you thing it's over
Just when you think it's done
Out of every nowhere
Never see it comeI know the lines are showing

I can't keep them in
Like everybody's story
It's written on the skinGive me one last try
And I'll make it up to you
Wish that you were here
Wish that I was trueI can feel stars
Shooting through my heart like rain
Leaving all the scars
Where the pleasure turns to painPoint me in the light
Of a bright and a shining right direction
And then take me home again
Take me home againI wish that you were here
Down amongst my dust
I need someone to help me
Yeah, I need someone to trustThere's something in these tears
Turning me to rust
Wish that you were here
Wish that it was usI can feel stars
Shooting through my heart like rain
Leaving all the scars
Where the pleasure turns to painPoint me in the light
Of a bright and a shining right direction
And then take me home again
Take me home again
Take me home againEverything's gonna be alright
Everything's gonna be alright
Everything's gonna be alright

Echo & the Bunnymen are a British post-punk band formed in Liverpool in 1978. The original line-up consisted of Ian McCulloch (of The Crucial Three), Will Sergeant and Les Pattinson. There are many stories, probably apocryphal, that the quartet was completed by a drum machine known as "Echo". By the time of their debut album, 1980's Crocodiles - a moderate UK hit - the drum machine had been replaced by Pete de Freitas.
