Sadie Lyrics

In a world like today
It's rare to see young mothers like the ones
Who were around when I grew up
But they live on in memory to quite a few of us
And this song is dedicated to those of us
Who cherish that memoryEarly one Sunday morning
Breakfast was on the table
There was no time to eat
She said to me, boy, hurry to Sunday schoolFilled with her load of glory
We learned the Holy story
She'll always have her dreams
Despite the things this troubled world can bringOh, Sadie, don't you know we love you, sweet Sadie?
We love you, Sadie
(There's no one above you, sweet Sadie)Well, well, well
(Livin' in the past)
Some times it seems so funny
No money will turn your life aroundSweeter than cotton candy
Stronger than papas old brandy

Always that needed smile, once in awhile
She would break down and crySome times she'd seem so happy, yeah, yeah
Just being with us and daddy
Standing the worst of times, breaking the binds
With just a simple songOh, Sadie, baby
(don't you know we love you, sweet Sadie?)
Oh, darlin'
(There's no one above you, sweet Sadie)
Sadie,
(Livin' in the past)Ever since the beginnin'
It's her her love that was always winnin', oh
(Sadie)
Sadie, baby
(Don't you know we love you, sweet Sadie?)Well, we love you, Sadie
(There's no one above you, sweet Sadie)
(Livin' in the past)If there's a heaven up above
I know that she's teachin' angels how to love
(Sadie)
Mama, mama, mama, Sadie(Don't you know we love you, sweet Sadie?)
My Sadie, may no
(There's no one above you, sweet Sadie)
Well, well, well
(Livin' in the past)Isn't it funny that in the end
It's just the love that you gave us, oh Sadie
It's a mean world without you, yeah
(Don't you know we love you, Sweet Sadie)I love you, mama
(There's no one above you, sweet Sadie)
I miss you, mama, yeah
(Livin' in the past)
Bring me a [Incomprehensible]Sometimes I'm feelin' so all alone
But I know I've to carry on
(Sadie)
It's a mean world without you
(Sadie)But I know I got to go on
(My sweet Sadie)
It's what you wanted for me
(Livin' in the past)
Sweet Sadie, oh
(Sadie)Oh
(Sadie)
I love u mama
(Sweet Sadie)
I can't forget your love
(Livin' in the past)

There are at least three artists with this name:

1. James Taylor (born 12th March 1948) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Boston, Massachusetts. He grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where his father Isaac Taylor was the dean of the University of North Carolina Medical School. His family summered on Martha's Vineyard.

Taylor's career began in the mid-1960s, but he found his audience in the early 1970s, singing sensitive and gentle acoustic songs. He was part of a wave of soft singer-songwriters of the time that also included Carole King, Joni Mitchell, John Denver, Jackson Browne, and Carly Simon (whom he later married).

In March 2010 he commenced the Troubadour Reunion Tour with Carole King and members of his original band, including Russ Kunkel, Leland Sklar, and Danny Kortchmar. They played shows in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and North America, including the final event at Pittsburgh's Mellon Arena. The tour was a major commercial success, and in some locations found Taylor playing arenas instead of his usual theatres or amphitheatres. With an average capacity of 95% for the shows, the tour raised millions for various charities of Taylor and King's choice.

2. James Taylor is a British acid jazz musician who has recorded several albums of minimalist acid jazz music as half of Swayzak. The albums have varied from from the subtle high-quality house of Snowboarding In Argentina (1998) and Himawari (2000) to the more pop sound of Dirty Dancing (2002) and Loops From The Bergerie (2004). Taylor is also the leader of the James Taylor Quartet (JTQ), a 4 piece funky jazz band. JTQ have a strong reputation as a great live band. JTQ have also recorded several albums under the name "The New Jersey Kings". Before founding JTQ in 1986, Taylor played the keyboards and the Hammond with The Prisoners.

3. James "J.T." Taylor was the lead singer for Kool and the Gang from 1978 to 1988.
