Safety In the Darkness Lyrics

There's nothing I can say to build these bridges back
Against the tides that washed them away
The life has left this room
Like a thousand fires gone black against the sky and scarlet moonThe smoke is in the air, choking out the sun
It's rising in the air, I can't seeAnd I will find you there, somewhere in the dark
Buried in a place between dead and broken hearts
There's safety in the darkness, there's safety in the darkI have left these shores to face the tempest night
That stirs the stars against the waters with its storms
The sirens sing their song, it's like a thousand hands
That pull me down and break the course I travel onThe ocean fills my lungs, drowning out the sun
It's rising in my lungs, I can't breatheAnd I will find you there, somewhere in the dark
Buried in a place between dead and broken hearts
There's safety in the darkness, there's safety in the darkI will find you there, somewhere in the dark
Buried in a place between dead and broken hearts
There's safety in the darkness, there's safety in the dark
Safety in the darkI close my eyes to see the light that's leading me
I close my eyes to see, to see the light that's leading meAnd I will find you there, somewhere in the dark
Buried in a place between dead and broken hearts

Kids in the Way is a Christian rock band from Indiana. Upon formation, Kids in the Way quickly gained attention with their post-hardcore sound, fronted by Dave Pelsue's scratchy, raw voice and honest lyrics. Kids in the Way began in 1997, and released three full-length albums prior to 2007, "Safe From the Losing Fight" and "Apparitions of Melody", and a re-release of the second album titled, "Apparitions of Melody, The Dead Letters Edition", including behind the scenes footage of the band and two new songs.
