Same Damn Thing Lyrics

See the light in my eyes but it all goes away
Black as sun drippin' down and it fills up my days
You don't know this part of me
You can't see these scars on meI see the world as a child, see it purple and gray
Runnin' reckless and wild like a horse with no reins
Am I still sleeping? Yeah, yeah, I must be dreamingGot a knife in my back and a bad, bad headache
Got my heart broke again, still the same damn thing
Well, I know it ain't easy, it's harder to say
Gonna walk on the sunny side of the street if that's all I do todayYou're so damn civilized, you just flip through the pages
Of my problems like I'm some psychology case
You don't know this part of me
Oh, you can't see these scars on meI see a squiggly line runnin' 'round the ceiling
Try to catch him, he's mine till my eyes start to sting
Am I still sleeping? Oh, I must be dreamingGot a knife in my back and a bad, bad headache
Got my heart broke again, still the same damn thing
Well, I know it ain't easy, it's harder to say
Gonna walk on the sunny side of the street if that's all I do todayIt's warm like winter in my mind
Shadows speak to me so nice

So leave me here, I'll be alright
Why don't you leave me here alone tonight?See the light in my eyes but it all goes away
Black as sun drippin' down and it fills up my days
You don't know this part of me, ohh
You can't see these scars on meGot a knife in my back and a bad, bad headache
Got my heart broke again, still the same damn thing
Well, I know it ain't easy, it's harder to say
Gonna walk on the sunny side of the streetGot a knife in my back and a bad, bad headache
Got my heart broke again, still the same damn thing
Well, I know it ain't easy, it's harder to say
Gonna walk on the sunny side of the street if that's all I do today

Anjulie (born Anjulie Persaud; 1983) is a singer and songwriter from Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

Anjulie is an intriguing, authentic new voice on the pop landscape, with the melodic gifts, vocal prowess and sophistication that announce her as a true original. Obsessed with music as a child, Anjulie has been singing and writing songs since she was a teen, and the years she spent honing her craft are readily apparent on her self-titled debut album for Hear Music. Co-written with her producer and collaborator Jon Levine (of Canadian r and b hit makers The Philosopher Kings), the album finds Anjulie setting intensely personal stories about her life, loves, obsessions, and heartbreaks to a dazzling genre-blending mix of pop, hip-hop, rock, and world rhythms she heard as a child growing up. Much like her contemporaries Nelly Furtado, Corrine Bailey Rae and Lily Allen, Anjulie is ready to carve out her own essential place in popular music.

Anjulie is a self-described music addict and has been writing and composing her own music since she was a teenager. She wrote the song "Say Goodbye to Jr. High", contributed background vocals and played percussion for the CD "Unfabulous and More" (2005). Her début album "Anjulie" was co-written and produced by Jon Levine of The Philosopher Kings.
