Sanity Lyrics

One two three fourThere's a watch in my pocket and its hands are broken
The face is blank but the gears are turnin'
(Confusion)
Is a fundamental state of mind
It doesn't really matter what I'm figurin' out?
I'm guaranteed to wind up in a state of doubtAnd sanity is a full time job
In a world that is always changin'
And sanity is a state of mind
That you believe in sanityThere's a shadow on the wall where the paint is peeling
My body's moving forward but my mind is reeling
(Depression)
Is a fundamental state of being
It doesn't really matter how my day has turned out?
I always end up living in this world of doubtAnd sanity is a full time job
In a world that is always changing
And sanity will make you stop it
You believe in sanityAnd sanity is a full time job
In a world that is always changin'

And sanity is a state of mind
That you believe in sanity

Peter Brötzmann (born March 6, 1941 in Remscheid, Germany) is a German free jazz saxophonist. Brötzmann is among the most important European free jazz musicians. His rough, lyrical timbre is easily recognized on his many recordings. He studied painting in Wuppertal and was involved with the Fluxus movement, but grew dissatisfied with art galleries and exhibitions. He has not abandoned his art training, however: Brötzmann has designed most of his own album covers. He first taught himself to play various clarinets, then saxophones; he is perhaps the only jazz musician to play the tárogató.
