Save Me From Myself Lyrics

The clouds are rollin' in
We'll watch them
The waves are strong
The boat is gone
I hope they're swimmingLittle boy lost in woods
Where's the clearing?
The town is out
They're calling loud
But he's not hearingIt's seems to me I'm always miles away
Looking for my old faceSave me from myself
I can't relate
We're mouth to mouth
And still I suffocate
There's nothing left
Inside for me to break
Save me from myselfThe bullet in the yard
Slowly rusting
The bottles crack

The kid's come back
And I'm just lookingThe wine is on the floor
The candles flicker
Your eyes fall
And I'm apalled
It's all just cinderThat seems to me we're always miles apart
Trying to find another place to startSave me from myself
I can't relate
We're mouth to mouth
And still I suffocate
There's nothing left
Inside for me to break
Save me from myselfThe sailors never left
They knew the weather
When they were found
They were having drinks togetherI found a little boy in the grocery
Happy ending's all around
And still they haunt meSave me from myself
I can't relate
We're mouth to mouth
And still I suffocate
There's nothing left
Inside of me to break
Save me from myselfSave me from myself
There's nothing left inside me
There's nothing left

The acoustic rock band Vertical Horizon was formed in 1990 by Georgetown University undergrads Matthew Scannell and Keith Kane; after graduation in 1991 the duo relocated to Boston and, in 1992, self-released their debut album There and Back Again. There and Back Again was recorded in Matt's old high school over a period of a few days, and Matt and Keith together played all the instruments appearing on the album, though they both mostly played acoustic guitar. Both also contributed to writing all the songs, and both sang.
