Say What I Wanna Say Lyrics

With that innocent smile, you said trust me
Together we'll go far, you just trust me
Making promises in vain, that's easy for you
You gather all the pain, that's all you can doAll on my own, I was blind to see
You hypnotized me, I was lost
Now I've awakened
The stone was just sand, now I'm a manHey, I'll say what I wanna say
Hey, I'll be what I wanna be
Like a lion in a cage, inside I feel the rage
Hey, I'll say what I wanna say, can't stop meYou taught me a lesson, I'll never forget
To never go no further, than my soul allowsAll on my own, I was blind to see
You hypnotized me, I was lost, now I've awakened
The stone was just sand, now I'm a manHey, I'll say what I wanna say
Hey, I'll be what I wanna be
Like a lion in a cage, inside I feel the rage
Hey, I'll say what I wanna sayCan't play your game, now who's to blame?
You think you're tough, I've had enough
Now I'm free from under the gun

Away from your spell I'll run, up and awayHey, I'll say what I wanna say
Hey, I'll be what I wanna be
Like a lion in a cage, inside I feel the rage
Hey, I'll say what I wanna say, I wanna say, I wanna say
Hey, I'll say what I wanna sayDon't stop me
Hey, I'll say what I wanna say
Hey, I'll be what I wanna be
Hey, I'll say what I wanna say
Hey, I'll be what I wanna be

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Alias, born in Portland, Maine to a jazz drummer and a church organist, grew up in a suburb called Hollis and played drums in his high school band. Isolated in a small town, alias found no music that captivated him until at age 13 when he saw "Yo MTV Raps." Alone in his interest in hiphop, alias sought to immerse himself in this foreign counter-culture.
