Scarred for Life Lyrics

Born into this life
A child in a world full of doubt
Rejected as an orphan boy
Torn from his mother's sideDogmas were thrown in his way
Obstacles from which to pass
The pain his soul endured
Has scarred his body fastDefiant in an angry heart
Stubborn in his ways
Determined to reach his goals
Though numbered are his daysLost within his mind
Emotionally disturbed
Abused throughout childhood
Wounded deeply beyond wordsSubmerged in hate and fear
Neglected by all around
Affliction was all we had
Lost and never foundBut then something snapped within
And turned him inside out
To survive, his life had to change

And mend his wounds somehowRebellion against authority
To conform, he would never submit
Punished by society
Upon their face he'd spitScarred for life
Wounded deep within
Healing this bludgeoned soul
Must somehow beginOften cry out in the night
Twisted into delusion
Crawling into the light
Scarred for life, scarred for life
Scarred for lifeLocked within his mind
A solitary prison cell
Depression fills him with despair
Falling to the depths of hellAlone in a silent rage
The final hours near
Desperate in his insanity
He cries out but no one hearsAnger consumed his soul
In a violent state of mind
Destroying his every thought
Soon running out of timeLies, he soon believed
From voices in his head
Confused in chaos hour
Wishing he was deadTorn into this life
A child in disarray
Blasphemed upon his soul
A victim of his ways
Scarred for life, scarred for life

Steel Prophet originally formed by guitarist Steve Kachinsky under the name Hard Prophet in the 80s is an American powermetalband. Although the band's music is influenced predominantly by Judas Priest, Metallica, Yes, Forbidden, and Sabbath, more personal influences include Queen and Pink Floyd. Leaked a demo in 1990 Inner Ascendence, and then finally got signed in 1995 with the release of their first album Goddess Principle. Dark Hallucinations, released on the Nuclear Blast label got some attention but they still remain fairly underground, with more German notoriety than anything.
