Scars Lyrics

Stars, lonely stars
Changing their color
Hoping that someone will notice and pay them attention againA secret scar
Changing its color
Praying that nobody notices all of the trouble I'm inAnd I know they're waiting
In open hallways
Caught in the doorway
For a chance to see insideStars, distant stars
Losing their shimmer
Rising then dropping to nowhere and wondering if it is timeYou're buying time
Life at a standstill
And the projector is spinning the past scenes that lock you in timeAnd I know they're waiting
In open hallways
Caught in the doorway
For a chance to see inside
And how will they find me
Holy and empty
A star that is falling

That's been lost somewhere in timeAnd I know they are marching
Always in a line
And someday they will find me
For a chance to see insideI know they're waiting for me
Somewhere inside my body
And I'll see them marching someday
Right through an open highway
And I'll never see through the same eyes again
No, I'll never see through the same eyes again

While it’s common practice in rock bios to liken an act to something familiar, it’s hard to do that with San Diego’s We Shot The Moon. That’s because it’s virtually impossible to compare them to any other band out there…not for more than a track or two, at least. We Shot The Moon--led by former Waking Ashland frontman Jonathan Jones--is a piano-heavy indie rock five-piece that formed in the year 2007. On September 29, the band releases its infectious sophomore LP, A Silver Lining, the follow-up to 2008’s Fear and Love, on Minneapolis-based label Afternoon Records.
