Scene Of A Perfect Crime Lyrics

My eyes are jaded and complicated
Tired of the liars and the masqueraded
Stealing our innocence away
Like a thief in the night?Who took away our faith in what we know to be right?
That was another world then, that was another timeYou can never go back to the scene of a perfect crime
Well, you can never go back to the scene of a perfect crimeWhatever became of the child I was
No I never want to lose her and I won't give her up
And now my heart is harder
My skin is getting tougher and tougherThat was another world then, that was another timeYou can never go back to the place where love is blind
Well, you can never go back to the scene of a perfect crimeWhatever became of our sweet blind love
As long as we could be together it was more than enough
Now we're all grown up and we need so much
I never knew that the price would go up as suchThat was another world then, that was another timeWell, you can never go back to the place where love is blind
Well, you can never go back to the place where love is blind
Well, you can never go back to the place where love is blind, oh no no no
You can never go back to the scene of a perfect crime

Concrete Blonde is an alternative rock band dating from the early 1980s to the early 1990s (and re-formed again in the 2000s). They are best known for the poignant songwriting and vocals of Johnette Napolitano. Singer / songwriter / bassist Napolitano formed the band Dream 6 with guitarist James Mankey in Los Angeles in 1982, releasing an eponymous EP in France on the Happy Hermit label in 1983. When they signed with IRS in 1986, labelmate Michael Stipe suggested the name Concrete Blonde, describing the contrast between their hard rock music and introspective lyrics.
