Seagulls Screaming Kiss Her, Kiss Her Lyrics

It's raining on the beach
She inches close but out of reach
The waves look painted on
Seagulls screamingThe sea is warship gray
It whispers, "Fool" then slides away
Black coastline slumbers on
Seagulls screaming kiss her, kiss herAnd all the flags that flap on the pier
Spell why on earth do you want
The fog hides much but one thing is clear
She's nearerDead deck chairs under shrouds
And life belts gape like minstrel mouths
Her hair still smells of saltSeagulls screaming kiss her, kiss her
Kiss her, kiss her, kiss her, kiss her
He who hesitates is lostIf you want her, you should tell her
Take her by the hand If you hesitate
If you wait, November wins her, November will win her
She returns to sand so get a hold of the girlI say, I like your coat
Her thank-you tugs my heart afloat

I nearly didn't hear for
Seagulls screaming kiss her, kiss herHe who hesitates is lost

XTC were an influential rock band (starting out as a post-punk outfit but eventually developing into a sound that was a mix of new wave and alternative/college rock) which formed Swindon, England in 1972. For most of their career, the band consisted of Andy Partridge (vocals, guitar), Colin Moulding (vocals, bass) and Dave Gregory (guitar, keyboards). Gregory replaced founding keyboardist Barry Andrews in 1979 and left himself in 1999.
