Shadow Over Me Lyrics

I remember falling
I remember hurting, feeling weightless,
Wounded in the shadows
I abandoned everything
Cut away the darkness that had left me searching in the shadowsFight the fight,
Fight the fight with the shadowsAnd now what's in the past still stays
Ignorance can bite us still the same
All the fear will fall way
The fear of a shadow over me
And now the past defines the change
Ignorance has led me far from grace
All the fear will fall away
The fear of a shadow over meI never thought I'd be forced to remember
How you left me searching, you left me hurting
Once I refuse to see all you've taken
All you've stolen from me
You've stolen from meFace to face
Face to face with the shadowAnd now what's in the past still stays

Ignorance can bite us still the same
All the fear will fall way
The fear of a shadow over me
And now the past defines the change
Ignorance has led me far from grace
All the fear will fall away
The fear of a shadow over meShadow over meI will lift my eye to the horizon?
And hope will lead the way
Love that? Admires? So the horizon?
Lives there until the eyes are grey/agree?And now what's in the past still stays
Ignorance can bite us still the same
But fear will fall wayAnd now what's in the past still stays
Ignorance can bite us still the same
All the fear will fall way
The fear of a shadow over me
And now the past defines the change
Ignorance has led me far from grace
All the fear will fall away
The fear of a shadow over meShadow over me

It won't take long for listeners of Spoken's sixth studio album to be reminded of how hard and fast the band can rock. The three songs that open the album, "History Erased," "Close Your Eyes" and "Not Soon Forgotten," start things off with nine minutes of blazing fast guitar riffs and loud and quick-rising vocals, all bounded by a full-sounding rhythm section. After two albums for Tooth and Nail where the band explored more anthemic avenues, the quintet found itself re-examining its hard rock and metal roots on its third record for the label.
