Shadows On the Sky Lyrics

See the river deep and wide
Could be free on the other side
Ohh, cross the waterWhen the gun and the knife have gone
Who'll be here when tomorrow comes
Ohh, living in fearSunrise, sunset, sunrise
Over the rainbow they fly
Shadows on the skyHear the sound that fills the skies
Killer man with dollar eyes
Ohh, bringing disasterYou can stand, you can run
(You can run)
When you hear the sound of a gun
Ohh, moving closerSunrise, sunset, sunrise
Over the rainbow they fly
Shadows on the skyCome on nowSunrise, sunset, sunrise
Over the rainbow they fly
Shadows on the sky(Even though)
And as far as the eye can see
Black as night is the cloud you're under

(Even though)
There's a chance that it cannot be
Hear the cries like the rolling thunderSunrise, sunset, sunrise
Over the rainbow they fly
Shadows on the skyCome on nowSunrise, sunset, sunrise
Over the rainbow they fly
Shadows on the skyIncomprehensible

Barclay James Harvest are an English progressive rock band. They were founded in Saddleworth, Yorkshire, United Kingdom, in September 1966 by John Lees, Les Holroyd, Stuart "Woolly" Wolstenholme (1947–2010), and Mel Pritchard (1948–2004). They are best-known for their first four albums released in quick succession from 1970-1972. The Barclay James Harvest story begins in the early sixties in the Oldham area of North-West England. John Lees and Stuart “Woolly” Wolstenholme met at Oldham Art School, and formed a band called The Sorcerers, which evolved into The Keepers.
