Sham Pain Lyrics

I never cared about the money, never really needed fame
You'd think it would have changed me but I've always been the same
My label tried to sue me, TMZ tried to sue me
Blabbermouth can fuckin' suck it cause they never fuckin' knew meEverybody seems like they're waiting for me to die
Talk shit behind my back, can't look me in the eye
They say I'm overrated, that I should've already faded
Gave a shit about it all because I love to be so hatedAll in all its a good life
I got what I want
I can't complain (I can't complain)
I'm living the good life
A toast to you now
It's all sham pain (it's all sham pain)
I barely get to eat and when I finally get to sleep
I get drug out of bed for another meet and greet
I shake the hand of every fan, put on a happy face
Spread so fuckin' thin I'm all over the place
I hate riding on the bus
I hate flying in the planes

Sedate myself just to kill the pain
I have no life, forgot the hope,
the whole things turned into one big jokeAll in all its a good life
I got what I want
I can't complain (I can't complain)
I'm living the good life
A toast to you now
It's all sham pain (it's all sham pain)
I mean no disrespect but I ain't picking up the check
Taking selfies on your phone while you're breathing down my neck
Its getting pretty fuckin' long, and I'm almost nearly done
I'm glad that you were happy as you talk to number oneI'm living the good life, a toast to you now, it's all sham painAll in all its a good life
I got what I want
I can't complain (I can't complain)
I'm living the good live
A toast to you know
It's all sham pain (it's all sham pain)

Five Finger Death Punch were formed in 2005 by guitarist Zoltan Bathory (formerly of U.P.O.). The American Capitalist Songfacts states that Bathory came up with the name after being amused by a scene involving a five finger punch in Kill Bill 2. Other members recruited to the band include former Motograter & Ghost Machine vocalist Ivan Moody, former W.A.S.P. members guitarist Darrell Roberts and drummer Jeremy Spencer, and former Anubis Rising/Deadsett bassist Matt Snell.

The band recorded their debut album The Way of the Fist in 2006 with Stevo "Shotgun" Bruno (Mötley Crüe, Prong) and Mike Sarkisyan (Spineshank). The record was mixed and mastered by former Machine Head/Soulfly guitarist Logan Mader.
After making waves in the underground metal scene, in early June it was announced that the band had inked a deal with Firm Music, which is a branch of "The Firm", a highly successful management company (Korn, Staind, Limp Bizkit). Their debut album "The Way Of The Fist" was released on July 31, 2007 The record broke into the Billboard 200 on its first week of release, and hit the #1 position on Billboard's New Artist/Heetseekers chart. Their First single, "The Bleeding" landed in the top 40 rock radio charts, eventually worked its way into the top 10 and ruled the radio waves for an astonishing 8 months. In times when US Rock Radio is anything but friendly toward heavier bands, against all odds 5FDP not just repeated but surpassed their first single's success with their follow up "Never Enough". The song climbed even faster to set up a seemingly permanent camp in the top 10, until the 3rd single "Stranger Than Fiction" showed up on the horizon to take over the guard post.
Supporting their release, for 19 consecutive months Five Finger Death Punch has relentlessly toured North America, eventually establishing themselves as a true headlining act and selling almost 300,000 records in the USA before branching out to the rest of the world. The international release of "The Way Of The Fist" (via Spinefarm/Universal) is scheduled to hit stores across the world in January 2009.
Recently, it was announced that guitarist Darrel Roberts left the band and will be replaced by Jason Hook
Five Finger Death Punch released "Under and Over It" as the first single from their third studio album, American Capitalist on July 27, 2011. (Under and Over It Songfacts).
