She Loves Me Back Lyrics

I had a lover
Who did not love me back
I did everything that a guy could do
I couldn't do more than thatI felt so helpless
I thought things would never change
Then I saw my girl walking down on the avenue
One day I said, I wanna talk to youI wasn't afraid to cry
Emotion was in my eyes
She took me on a natural highWhen I said, I love you girl of mine
And then she said, I love you back
And she loves me backShe loves me backI had a lover
Who did not love me back
I bought her candy canes and dolls and flowers
And I took her to Coney IslandNow, who could do more than that?
It was a problem until on that fateful day
I saw my girl walking down on the avenue
And she said, Hey, come here, I wanna talk to youShe wasn't afraid to cry
Emotion was in here eyes

She took me on a natural highI said, I love you girl of mine
And then she said, I love you back
She loves me backWell, I told my girl I love her
Said me, I love you backI don't thing our love's gonna lose
There ain't no way
I'm taking my time to convince her that love's here to stay
Love is here to stay because she loves me backShe loves me back
Want a pretty little girl
Pretty little, pretty little girlWhen I tell my girl I love her
She says, I love you back
She loves me backAnd I told my girl I love her
She says, I love you back
She loves me backThis man is a doctor
This man is a doctor
This man is a doctor
When it comes on in, it's onWe weren't afraid to cry
Emotion was in our eyes
She took me on a natural highI said, I love you girl of mine
And then she said, I love you back
She loves me backShe loves me back
She's the girl for me
Because she loves me backWhen I say that I love my girl
She says to me, I love you back
When I tell my girl I love her
She says she loves me back
She says she loves me backShe loves me, she loves me
She loves me right back
Forever more

Luther Ronzoni Vandross (April 20, 1951 - July 1, 2005) was an american soul and rnb singer whose career spanned four decades.

In the 70s, he worked as a backing singer Chic and for David Bowie (on the Young Americans album). He later found success as a solo artist with Superstar and A House Is Not A Home.

In the 80s, Vandross was a vocalist on early Change singles (Searching), whilst continuing his solo career with such releases as "Never Too Much", "Power Of Love/Love Power", "If Only For One Night", "Here And Now".

In the 90s, he was more famous for duets with Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey (amongst others), than for his solo work.

It was an ongoing battle with his weight that may have ultimately proved his undoing. He suffered a stroke in 2003, from which he never really recovered, and died in 2005.

During his career, he sold 25 million albums and won eight Grammy awards including Best Male R&B Vocal Performance four times. He won four Grammy awards in 2004, including the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for the track "Dance With My Father," co-written with Richard Marx.
