She Thinks I Still Care Lyrics

She thinks I still careJust because I asked a friend about her
Just because I spoke her name somewhere
Just because I rang her number by mistake today
She thinks I still careJust because I haunt the same old places
Where the memory of her lingers everywhere
Just because I'm not the happy guy I used to be
She thinks I still careAnd if she's happy thinking I still need her
Then let that silly notion bring her cheer
Oh how could she ever be so foolish
Tell me where did she get such an ideaJust because I asked a friend about her
Just because I spoke her name somewhere
Just because I saw her then went all to pieces
She thinks I still careHow could she think I still care

The Statler Brothers were an American country music vocal group founded in 1955 in Staunton, Virginia. Originally performing gospel music at local churches, the group billed themselves as The Four Star Quartet, and later The Kingsmen. In 1963, when the song "Louie, Louie" by the garage rock band also called The Kingsmen became famous, the group elected to bill themselves as The Statler Brothers. Despite the name, only two members of the group (Don and Harold Reid) are actual brothers and none have the surname of "Statler".
