Shirley Lyrics

Welcome the first lady
To try and qualify in an A-Dragster
For NHRA competition
Shirley MuldowneyFeels so real
Crushing the steering wheel
How many times, must we toe this line?
Halting me its, is the fantasyCha-Cha, call her Cha-Cha
What's drag racing coming to?How many times must you be told?
There's nowhere that we don't go
She's got good records
I suggest you find a seat in the grandstands
Because you don't wanna miss thisShe's just have watched
What she wants to do?
I wonder if Shirley's got in her to hold that throttle down
Kills your joke
As she's burning outCha-Cha Muldowney is pulling her ahead
And she takes the red light
And you will find

Crossing the finish line
Shirley Muldowney has set a new track recordSatisfaction!
(She's got good records)How much times must you be told?
There's nowhere that we don't go
She's got good records
What's a beautiful girl like you
Doing racing in a place like this?Winning, winning, winning
The lady got through it
Winning, winning
What's drag racing coming to?How many times must you be told?
There's nowhere that we don't go
She's got good records
What's a beautiful girl like you
Doing racing in a place like this?Winning, winning, winning
Winning, winning

L7

L7 was a grunge band. The band was formed in 1985 by Donita Sparks and Suzi Gardner, who were later joined by jennifer finch and Dee Plakas. They signed to Epitaph Records for their first album and to Sub Pop in 1989. The name is taken from a slang phrase from the 1950s which means "square," but is often mistaken for a reference to a sex position, also called "69". In 1991 the band formed Rock for Choice, a pro-choice women's rights group which was supported by other bands of that era, including Nirvana, Mudhoney, Pearl Jam, 7 Year Bitch.
