Shoorah! Shoorah! Lyrics

You got to wake up early in the morning
You got to stay up all night long
You still won't catch up 'cause I got the warnin'
I got the feelin' you wanna do me wrongLike a ball of lightening and a ball of heat
You wanna knock me right off my feet
But I recognize through the eyes of a fool
That you got the power to make your own rulesShoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
Hey, I can see you comin
Shoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
But you wont catch meShoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
Hey, I can hear you hummin
Shoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
But you wont catch meI can see you movin, movin all around me
I know youre trying to get me upset
I can hear you groovin, thinkin you don't found me
But Im here to tell you, you aint got me yet, no, noShoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
Hey, I can see you comin
Shoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!

But you wont catch meShoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
Hey, I can hear you hummin
Shoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
But you wont catch meI checked you out from the corner of my eye
You and the devil walkin side by side
And you aint changed, lets be real about it
And I cant change how I feel about itShoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
Hey, I can see you comin
Shoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
But you wont catch meShoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
Hey, I can hear you hummin
Shoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
But you wont catch meShoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
Said, I can see you comin
Shoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
But you wont catch meShoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
Hey, I can hear you hummin
Shoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
But you wont catch meShoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
Hey, I can see you comin
Shoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
But you wont catch me, no, noShoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
Hey, I can hear you hummin
Shoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!
But you wont catch me, noShoo-Rah! Shoo-Rah!

Betty Wright (born December 21, 1953, in Miami, Florida) is a soul and R&B singer, who influenced a generation of female singer-songwriters and also influenced the world of hip hop, who sampled some of her more famous material. Born singing gospel with the family group, the Echoes of Joy, Wright began switching to R&B music in 1965 when she was only 11. In 1968, she released her first album, My First Time Around, at the age of 15, and scored her first hit, "Girls Can't Do What Guys Can Do". But it was not until the end of 1971 that Wright's most successful phase of her career took place.
