Shotover Hill Lyrics

SHOTOVER HILL by Broken Home
Shotover Hill not far away from home
That's where I laid my lady
Down in the grave
We're lovin' in the afternoon
It was a fine time
Shotover Hill so peaceful and remote
Spendin' the winter nights
In the back of the car
I never really got so far - but
It was hard
Yes, it was a hard time
Come and see the mighty gutter
See the mighty gutter

See the gutter
Come into the mighty gutter
See the mighty gutter
See the gutter
Where the young ones meet to say,
I love you, do you love me?
Where the young ones go to say,
I want you, do you really want ... me?
Do you really want me?
(Instrumental)
Shotover Hill, they covered it with houses
Layin' down brand new raods
From here to there
Nobody ever really cares, hey
What's it all about?
Tell me, what's it all about
Come and see the mighty gutter
See the mighty gutter
See the gutter
Come and see the mighty gutter
See the mighty gutter
See the gutter
Where the young ones meet to say,
I love you, do you love me?
Where the young ones go to say,
I want you, do you really want ... me?
Do you really want me?
Tell me, do you really want me?
Yeah!
Yeah!
Do you want me, baby?
Tell me, do you want me?
Tell me, do you want me?
Do you leave me?
I want to know about it
Yeah, I wanna know about it

Dicken and Pete Crowther had played together in various bands since 1969. The original lineup consisted of Pete Barnacle, drums, and Rory Wilson, guitar, in addition to Dicken, lead vocals and guitar, and Pete Crowther, bass.
