Sign On the Line Lyrics

Sign On The Line
Why can't we do anything about our own future,
'Cause try as we might all the "rights" are in hands of the few,
You're breaking your back, but your spirit is broken already,
And there's no use in trying, cause trying don't get you nowhere,
I say, "Sign on the line" you know it's in your best interest believe me,
Your lawyers object it, ah there's no use in accepting their views,
The ink is not dry and the documents have been neatly filed,
It's a standard procedure in case a cold battle ensues,
Well it's no use,
And it isn't fair,
But it never was,
So we didn't care,
Our politics are changing,
And the kids grew wise,

And you can deal with, record executive types.
Well now you must understand that this wouldn't have happened, if it had been up to me,
But I'm a victim of comrade rule and the new policy,
Well, well you do it our way or no way at all..you'll be through,
'Cause you're not in the majors and bar owners never get their fair due, they never will.
But it's no use and it isn't fair,
But never was, so we didn't care no,no,
Our politics are changing and the little kids grew wise,
And you still can deal with...record executive types..
Record executive types, their telling you all their lies,
They're really selling it so..

Goddo was one of Canada's rising stars of the music industry in the late 70's and early 80's. Fronted by Greg Godovitz on vocal, Gino Scarpelli on guitar and Doug Inglis on drums, Goddo made cross Canada sweeps creating a loyal fan base that crowded into sold out shows. While the band had considerable talent, only their song "Pretty Bad Boy" got much radio play. Godovitz continued to front the band through the years although there were numerous personnel changes.
