Sky Is Falling Lyrics

Rain and thunderin'
And lightnin' crumblin'
Building's fallin'
Hurricanes earth shatterin'Mid-rains scatterin'
Insane happenin'
Souls keeps burnin'
And the sky keeps plummetin', nowThe sky is fallin', life is appallin'
And death is lurkin', niggaz killin' each other
Leavin' bodies nobodies searchin' for
And youth announced, catchin' a bit of murder one
And mothers is drinkin'
And druggin', hoe-in; searchin' for their sonAnd liquor stores upon every corner
And younger people done accepted defeatin'
The meltin' pot of lavas seepin'
And the hood is all the mic can conceive
When your foes bleedin' to their death
And you pickin' their pocket, wanna just get evenNiggers is bangin' and coppers is bangin' punk snuggin
Highly intelligent Africans lowered to punk smuggin

And capitals of the planet, planets run by the government
And genocide 's overwhelmin', devil is lovin' itAnd children in high school go n' smokin their classes up
And people thats rich don't be checkin' for what is happenin'
Degradin' all women, knock 'em up, leave 'em, now smack em up
And ain't no way to reach us we're sleepin' like hells castle
Sky is fallin'(Rain and thunderin')
And lightnin' crumblin'
Building's fallin'
Hurricanes earth shatterin'Mid-rains scatterin'
Insane happenin'
Souls keeps burnin'
And the sky keeps plummetin', now(Rain and thunderin')
And lightnin' crumblin'
Building's fallin'
Hurricanes earth shatterin'Mid-rains scatterin'
Insane happenin'
Souls keeps burnin'
And the sky keeps plummetin', nowThe sky is fallin', no one is watchin'
Tornadoes twistin' wheres nobody is listenin'
And fires no one pays attention
Energies are eruptin', blurrin' the intentional vision
Doctors and lawyers
And scientists all are locked in the prison of the mindAnd all the youth are unreachable, but they teachable
But emcees don't be teachin' them too
Down deep down in their soul
Amongst the prostitution and pimpin', robbin' and stealin'
We give a name, sab-a truth, this is nigger-land
Glad to knew ya, but give a damnFor the future, religions is institutionalized
Hittin truths, even youthsalized
You got two pistols at the head of your own people
It's lethal but it's livin' proofInstead of leavin' smiles leaven death inside of our livin' room
And instead of college they got us slangin' after high school
For the love of the money and everythin' that it will buy you
Everybody out for that and they kill you if you a rival
20 lines and 1 stake on the table it's about survival
The sky is fallin'(Rain and thunderin')
And lightnin' crumblin'
Building's fallin'
Hurricanes earth shatterin'Mid-rains scatterin'
Insane happenin'
Souls keeps burnin'
And the sky keeps plummetin', nowRevelation from the now
To the temptation calm the fury all
Drown the confusion through the devastation
Live in the trees of elimination
Truth is absolute prophets can't wait long
Can't take long, revelation
Devastation, better stay strong

Gift Of Gab (Tim Parker) and Chief Xcel (Xavier Mosley) met at John F. Kennedy High School in 1987 in Sacramento, California and formed the group in the early 1990s. They released their first recording, "Swan Lake", on solesides records. The Solesides Crew consisted of the duo, as well as other friends of theirs they had met at University of California - Davis, including DJ Shadow, Lyrics Born and Lateef The Truth Speaker. The single was an underground hit, but label trouble prevented the duo from immediately capitalizing on their fame.

In late 1997, Solesides became quannum projects and in 1999 Blackalicious released the A2G EP, which served as a precursor to their debut full length album, Nia, which was released the following year. This was followed by a major label contract with MCA Records and the release of the critically acclaimed album Blazing Arrow in 2002.

In May 2004 Gift of Gab released his first solo album, 4th Dimensional Rocketships Going Up, but he assured fans that Blackalicious was alive and well.

A third full length, entitled The Craft, was released on Epitaph Records imprint ANTI- on September 27, 2005.
