Sleeping With the Lights On Lyrics

Well, I can't believe how much I think about you
Don't know why?
How'd I ever even get along without you
Through the long night?Days are so long, you're not around
But I only know one thingTired of sleeping with the lights on
And writing all these sad songs, I know where I belong
It's tangled up in your arms, so tell me that you're all right
You're missing me tonight, you can't wait till I come homeAnd I wonder if you're starin' out the window
Watchin' cars go by
And I wonder if it ever really gets to you
With no one by your sideWalkin' through this lonely space
I need you so much every day
This is the life I knowTired of sleeping with the lights on
And writing all these sad songs, I know where I belong
It's tangled up in your arms, so tell me that you're all right
You're missing me tonight, you can't wait till I come homeIt's getting closer every day
Just thinking about it makes me shake
But I know I need you nowTired of sleeping with the lights on

And writing all these sad songs, I know where I belong
It's tangled up in your arms, so tell me that you're all right
Missing me tonight, you can't wait till I come homeTell me that you're all right
Missing me tonight, you can't wait till I come home

Pat Green was born in San Antonio and raised in Waco, Texas, the eighth of nine siblings. His father was a stage actor, and Green fell in love with the musicals his father acted in. Green began his musical career when he was 18 and in college at Texas Tech in Lubbock. "I started playing guitar to pick up the chicks," Green laughs. "Before that, I only sang in the shower. I could mimic other people's voices. It took me a long time to find my own voice, but once I did, I became very comfortable with it. It's not real pretty but it's believable."
