Small Town Ways (Demo) Lyrics

["Small Town Ways" by the BoDeans]
§ Hey! §
§ §
§ I'm just a poor boy running, don't have time to look back §
§ I'm riding down the lonesome railroad track §
§ There's nothing in my pockets and there's nothing much to say §
§ Every night and day, well that's a crying shame §
§ Well I'm riding the line and I'm feel alone §
§ Thinking about my baby left back at home §
§ There was nothing she could do, nothing she could say §
§ There was nothing big enough about those small town ways §
§ §
§ Yeah, we pull in the station and I jump from the train §
§ And all of those people make me jump back again §
§ Things are mighty different here in my small town §
§ It seems everywhere you look, there's people all around §

§ Oh, I remember one day in the factory §
§ Giving up the fight for the company §
§ There was nothing you could do, nothing you could say §
§ And nothing big enough about those small town ways §
§ §
§ Well running out every day §
§ Just running and don't look back no more, Whoa-hoa §
§ I keep thinking there's a way or something you were fighting for, whoa-hoa §
§ §
§ Well I walk around the corner to the grocery store §
§ I walked right in and I slammed the door §
§ Well the man at the counter starts to tremble and shake §
§ As he stares and my hands and my 38 §
§ §
§ Oh, I remember my daddy in the factory §
§ Giving up his life for the company §
§ There was nothing you could do, nothing you could say §
§ There was nothing big enough about those small town ways §
§ Those small town ways §
§ Those small town ways §
§ Those small town ways §
§ Those small town ways §
§ §
