Solitude Lyrics

In my solitude
You haunt me
With dreadful ease
Of days gone byIn my solitude
You taunt me
With memories
That never dieI sit in my chair
And filled with despair
There's no one could be so sad
With gloom everywhere
I sit and I stare
I know that I'll soon go madIn my solitude
I'm afraid
Dear Lord above
Send back my loveI sit in my chair
And filled with despair
There's no one could be so sad
With gloom everywhere

I sit and I stare
I know that I'll soon go madIn my solitude
I'm afraid
Dear Lord above
Send me back my love

Herbert Jeffrey Hancock (born April 12, 1940) is a jazz pianist and composer from Chicago, Illinois, United States. Hancock is one of jazz music's most important and influential pianists and composers. He embraced elements of rock, funk, and soul while adopting freer stylistic elements from jazz. As part of Miles Davis' "second great quintet" Hancock helped redefine the role of a jazz rhythm section, and was later one of the first jazz musicians to embrace synthesizers and jazz funk.
