Some Things You Can't Take Back Lyrics

Well she was lookin' out the window
An' I was starin' at the door
The dog was sleepin' on the sofa
This place has never been this quiet before
You can't pretend it never happened
You can't pretend it's still the same
You can't say you were only jokin'
You can't keep thinkin' at things can go on this way
Somethings you can't take back
Though you wish you could
Some things you can't take back
Though the glass has been broke
An' the milk has been spilled
An' your love's on the line
Some things you can't take back
When someone says there's no tomorrow
When the writings on the wall
After all is cried and spoken

An' your poor heart has taken such a fall
Somethings you can't take back
Though you wish you could
Some things you can't take back
Though the glass has been broke
An' the milk has been spilled
An' your love's on the line
Somethings you can't take back
If I could reset the clock and go back in time
I'd erase the thoughts that went through my mind
You know I never would leave
An' I'd still have you with me
You can't pretend it never happened
You can't pretend it's still the same
You can't say you were only jokin'
You can't keep thinkin' at things can go on this way
Somethings you can't take back
Though you wish you could
Some things you can't take back
Though the glass has been broke
An' the milk has been spilled
An' your love's on the line
Somethings you can't take back
'Cause in the cold light of day the pieces all blew away
An' now I'm livin' a lie
Somethings you can't take back

Uncle Kracker (born Matthew Shafer 9 November 1974 in Mount Clemens, Michigan) is an American rock and roll and country music musician.

He started out his career at a young age as a fledgling rapper. He met Kid Rock in 1987, and Rock asked Kracker to become his DJ. Kracker did not know how to work the turntables, but he soon learned how to, and he became a long-term friend and colleague of Rock.

Kracker worked with Kid Rock until he became a solo artist in 2000.

The My Hometown Songfacts reports that Kracker recorded Postcards From Home over seven weeks in early 2011. The album title was inspired by his hectic life on the road after his successful Happy Hour longplayer.
