Something In the World Today Lyrics

There's something in the street tonight
Don't know what it is but it won't keep quiet
Breaking through your masses
On your radio broadcasterThere's something in the air tonight
And it's turning in to a full fledge riot
Seen a boy's last dance
Someone tried to buy him the truthOh, oh, oh, oh, oh, nine lives
I'm gonna come right back for you
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, nine lives
I'm gonna come right back for youThere's something in the world today
I don't know what it is
But it sure smells rotten
Babylon's burning and the fire seems waterproofThere's someone in your home tonight
You think you know who they are
But something just ain't so right, I look at them
A way but they don't feel the same about meOh, oh, oh, oh, oh, nine lives
I'm gonna come right back for you
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, nine lives

I'm gonna come right back for youAnd I run and I run and I ride and I ride
And I knew that I knew that I tried and tried
And I know it was all for you and meAnd I run and I run and I ride and I ride
And I knew that I knew that I tried and tried
And I know it was all for you and meAnd I run and I run and I ride and I ride
And I knew that I knew that I tried and tried
And I know it was all for you and meAnd I run and I run and I ride and I ride
And I knew that I knew that I tried and tried
And I know it was all for you and me

Rancid is a punk rock band which formed in Berkeley, California, United States in 1991. The band consists of Tim "Lint" Armstrong (vocals, guitar), Lars Frederiksen (guitar), Matt Freeman (bass) and Brendan Stieneckert (drums). The band has released seven albums: "Rancid" (1993), "Let's Go" (1994), "...And Out Come the Wolves" (1995), "Life Won't Wait" (1998), "Rancid" (2000), "Indestructible" (2003) and "Let the Dominoes Fall" (2009). The band originally consisted of Armstrong, Freeman (both former members of Operation Ivy) and drummer Brett Reed, with Frederiksen joining in 1993. Reed left in 2006 and was replaced by Stieneckert.

To date, Rancid has released seven studio albums, one split album, one compilation, two extended plays, and a series of live online-only albums, and has been featured on a number of compilation albums. The band has independently sold over four million records worldwide,[4] making it one of the most successful independent punk groups of all time. The band rose to fame in 1994 with its second studio album, Let's Go, featuring the single "Salvation". In the following year, Rancid released its highly successful album ...And Out Come the Wolves, which produced its best-known songs "Roots Radicals", "Ruby Soho" and "Time Bomb", and was certified gold and platinum by the RIAA, selling over one million copies in the United States alone. Its next four albums, Life Won't Wait, Rancid, Indestructible and Let the Dominoes Fall, were also critically acclaimed, though not as successful as ...And Out Come the Wolves. Rancid is currently working on an eighth studio album, which is said to be recorded in September 2011, and expected to be released in 2012.
