Something for the Pain Lyrics

Happiness, been no friend to me
But forever after ain't what it's all cracked up to be
Yeah, I had a taste, you were my fantasy
But I almost lost my faith when I hit realityI don't need no guru to tell me what to do
When your feeling like a headlines on yesterday's newsCome on, come on, come on
Give me something for the pain
Give me something for the blues
Give me something for the pain
When I feel I'm danglin' on a hang-man's nooseOh, give me something for the rain
Give me something I can use
To get me through the night, make me feel all right
Something like you
Come on, come on, come onLoneliness found a home in me
Oh, my suitcase and guitar are my only family
I've tried to need someone, like they needed me
But I opened up my heart, all I did was bleedI don't need no lover, just to get screwed
They don't make no bandage, that's going to cover my bruiseCome on, come on, come on
Give me something for the pain

Give me something for the blues
Give me something for the pain
When I feel I'm danglin' on a hang-man's nooseGive me something for the rain
Give me something I can use
To get me through the night, make me feel all right
Something like you
Come on, come on, come onPull me under through my veins
(Help I'm falling)
First to a place where I feel no pain
Be the pillow under my head
(Night is calling)
Cover me when I'm in your bed(Feels like I'm flying)
Higher than I've ever been
Take me down and back again
Come to me, be my disguise
(Christ, I'm dying)
Open your coat, let me crawl inside
Come on, come on, come onCome on, come on, come on
Give me something for the pain
Give me something for the blues
Give me something for the pain when
When I feel I'm danglin' on a hang-man's nooseOh, give me something for the rain
Give me something I can use
To get me through the night, make me feel all right
Something like you
Come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on, come onGive me, give me something for the pain
Give me, give me something I can use
Just like you
Just like you

Intense, soulful and poetic, Redlight King's music is both biographical and cathartic. Using the backdrop of his humble beginnings growing up in the hardworking Canadian steel town of Hamilton, Ontario, Redlight King frontman and songwriter, Kaz, wrote his first song at the age of 7 but didn't pick up a guitar until he was 21. A keen observer and prolific storyteller, the songs on Something For The Pain reflect a culmination of life's highs and lows. After hitting rock bottom, Kaz used the experiences as inspiration and selling everything he had, headed for Los Angeles to record an honest and introspective album that is sure to resonate with the listener. Musically, Something For The Pain blends these pensive musings with a decidedly rock sound punched with rhythmic undertones. "Old Man", the first single from the upcoming CD is not a cover but rather was written as an ode to his own father while paying homage to musical icon Neil Young's song of the same name and, for the first time ever, contains an approved sample of Young's original song. Done with great respect, the song carries a deeply personal message with a thoroughly modern and original twist. Pushing boundaries and taking risks sums up the moniker Redlight King and is an apt description of the band and its music. With victory ahead and the past a nod in the rearview mirror, Redlight King is destined to break barriers.
