Song of the Dreamer Lyrics

We met in a dream
You walked by my side
And there in that dream
Your arms opened wideAll the thrills I had missed
Showen bright in your eyes
Then softly we kissed
What a sweet surpriseLoves magic devine
And temperance supreme
It was yours, it was mine
What a perfect scheme
To the heavens above
I'm praying that you
Give me that which I love
Let this dream come trueAll the thrills I had missed
Showen bright in your eyes
Then softly we kissed
What a sweet surpriseLoves magic devine
And temperance supreme

It was yours, it was mine
What a perfect scheme
To the heavens above
I'm praying that you
Give me that which I love
Let this dream come trueLet this dream come true

John Alvin Ray (January 10, 1927 – February 24, 1990) was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. Popular for most of the 1950s, Ray has been cited by critics as a major precursor of what would become rock and roll, for his jazz and blues-influenced music and his animated stage persona. Ray was born in Hopewell, Oregon, spending part of his childhood on a farm, eventually moving to Portland, Oregon.
