Southern Drawl Lyrics

Life sounds better
Life sounds better
Life sounds better with a southern drawl
Life sounds better
Life sounds betterHere's a song for the southland
Chewin' on Redman
It's been all mornin'
Up in the tree stand
Burgers and hot dogs
Livin' for football
Backwoods battle cry made with a duck call
Life's so simple, like sweet ice tea
Here's our down home recipeWe drive trucks, we drink beer
We shoot whiskey and hunt deer
We say things like yes ma'am and howdy ya'll
Life sounds better with a southern drawlWe got family tradition, good intentions
Get a little crazy, I love our religion
Apple pie, baseball, honky-tonk, dancehall

[?]
We mind our manners and we talk real slow
Down here buddy, that's the way it goesWe drive trucks, we drink beer
We shoot whiskey and hunt deer
We say things like yes ma'am and howdy ya'll
Life sounds better with a southern drawlCountry music, mashed potato, nothin' like a ripe tomato
Bible belt to the core, we support our troops at war
Grand Ol' Opry, barbecue, we support Amendment Two
Just about everything is a little better with a twangWe drive trucks, we drink beer
We shoot whiskey and hunt deer
We say things like yes ma'am and howdy ya'll
Life sounds better with a southern drawlWe drive trucks, we drink beer
We shoot whiskey and hunt deer
We say things like yes ma'am and howdy ya'll
Life sounds better with a southern drawlLife sounds better, life sounds better
Life sounds better, life sounds better
Life sounds better, a lotta, lotta better
Life sounds better, a whole lotta better
Life sounds better, life sounds better, life sounds better
A lotta, lotta better, life sounds better, a whole lotta better
A sure 'nuff a better, life sounds better
Life sounds better with a southern drawl y'all

Alabama is a country music band from Fort Payne, Alabama that was started in 1969 but did not get a recording contract until 1977. Alabama began by singing for tips around Myrtle Beach before going on to sell millions of records. They were among the first successful country groups since the mid-1970s, thanks to their blend of contemporary and traditional country and southern rock. On July 4-93 they opened a $7-million, 2,200-seat theater, located in Barefoot Landing-Myrtle Beach South Carolina.

The members of Alabama are:

- Randy Owen (vocals and rhythm guitar)
- Teddy Gentry, (vocals and bass guitar)
- Jeff Cook (lead guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, fiddle, banjo, and mandolin)
- Mark Herndon (drums and percussion)

Along with the Oak Ridge Boys and the Statler Brothers, Alabama is recognized as having paved the way for today's top country groups, including Diamond Rio, Lonestar and Rascal Flatts.
