Spanish Eyes Lyrics

I met a girl at the carnival
In Rio de Janeiro
We danced all night on the boulevard
In doorways we did the tangoI miss her lips and the way she sashayed her hips
As she shook her shoulders
I miss the smell of her hair, I don't care
If it takes my whole life to find herWe were dancing in the summer rain
We were dancing through the night
I never knew her real name
So I called her Spanish Eyes
Spanish EyesThe sun came up and the girl was gone
Her masquerade was over
I searched the streets drunk with love
But no one seemed to know herI miss the touch of her body so much
I long for the warmth inside her
Somewhere in time she will come back to me
And I'll spend my whole life beside herWe were dancing in the summer rain
We were dancing through the night

I never knew her real name
So I called her Spanish EyesI miss her lips and the way she sashayed her hips
As she shook her shoulders
I miss the smell of her hair, I don't care
If it takes my whole life to find herWe were dancing in the summer rain
We were dancing through the night
I never knew her real name
So I called her Spanish EyesWe were dancing in the summer rain
We were dancing through the night
I never knew her real name
So I called her Spanish Eyes
Spanish Eyes
Spanish Eyes

Matt Monro (December 1, 1930 (or 1932, say some sources) - February 7, 1985) was a ballad singer of the 1960s and one of great international postwar entertainers. Throughout his 30-year career he filled cabarets, nightclubs, music halls and stadiums across the globe, from Australia, Japan, the Philippines, and Hong Kong to Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas. He sold more than 25 million records during his lifetime (most of those sales however didn't come until after his death), imbuing each one with his elegant blend of majesty, sincerity, and superior technique.
