Speak and Spell Lyrics

Darlin' I would never tell
Use your speak and spellLike revolution that's bound to stall
It's hard to be ignoredIt doesn't mean that much
I don't hate your guts
But I don't wanna hear you're better off nowI wanna know he's dull
And he's miserable
I wanna know that he can stand an insultDarlin' I would keep it down
You give yourself awayAll the insults you toss around
Come back to haunt you nowIt doesn't mean that much
But I don't hate your guts
But I don't want to hear you're better off nowI wanna know he's dull
And he's miserable
I wanna know that he can stand an insultDrive this car right off the road
Are you comfortable?
Let's goIt doesn't mean that much
But I don't hate your guts but
But I don't want to hear you're better off nowI wanna know he's dull
And he's miserable

I wanna know that he can stand an insultHe can stand an insult
That he can stand an insult

Helmet are an alternative metal band formed in New York City in 1989 by founding members Page Hamilton (guitar/vocals), Henry Bogdan (bass), Peter Mengede (guitar) and John Stanier (drums). They are known for their frequent use of drop d tuning and experimental approach to metal music, earning the band the nickname "the thinking man's metal". The group signed to Ampthetamine Reptile Records, and released their first full-length album, Strap It On, in 1990. Interscope Records soon came calling and signed the band in 1992.
