Speed of Sound (Alternate Version Backing Track) Lyrics

I remember the first time
You've said you loved me
I waited all weekend
You never called meSo you find him attractive
So what if he is?
You'd like some excitement
You can't count the same kissSo it goes
On and on
My love grows
And yours is gone
A lonely existence
Well it's just a lie
If there is a reason
I'd like to know whySomething I want you to know
I've told you this once before
Don't want you to see him no moreOnce again
You've let me down
Broke my heart

And turned me roundThere's a light in the darkness
It doesn't seem far
It's something that matter
The throttle's ajar
The plane goes down
Will not land
Pilot's dead
Nowhere to be found

Chris Bell (January 12, 1951–December 27, 1978) was a singer, songwriter, and guitarist born in Memphis, Tennessee. Along with Alex Chilton, he led the power pop band Big Star, which recorded albums during the early 1970s. Chris Bell left the group after their first album, #1 Record, but contributed some music and lyrics to their second LP, 1974's Radio City. He recorded as a solo artist for the remainder of the 1970s; two of these influential solo recordings, "I Am The Cosmos" and "You And Your Sister," were released on a 1978 single on Car Records.
