Spend Some Time Lyrics

I had a picture of you in my head
It kept me warm when you were not there
You can make me laugh make me feel like
A child to see your smile made everything worthwhileI feel a glow when you are near
All of my doubt just disappear
But baby nothing stays the same
It's such a shameSpend some time trying to figure out
What to do with this love what to do with this love
Now it seems like the best thing baby
Is just give it up let's just give it upSo now you play trick with my mind
I am gonna leave your loving all behind
You were my joy you were my pain
Something is lost when something is gainedDon't worry baby I'll be fine
I'll grow tired of you wasting my time
Don't bother pleading or trying to stop me
It's too late now I've just got to be freeSpend some time trying to figure out
What to do with this love what to do with this love
Now it seems like the best thing baby

Is just give it up let's just give it upSpend some time trying to figure out
What to do with this love what to do with this love
Now it seems like the best thing baby
Is just give it up let's just give it upSpend some time trying to figure out
What to do with this love what to do with this love
Now it seems like the best thing baby
Is just give it up let's just give it upBaby just give it up
I've just had enough
Give it up boy, give it up
I've just had enoughBaby just give it up I've just had enough
Give it up boy, give it up I've just had enough
Baby just give it up I've just had enough
Give it up boy, give it up I've just had enough

The Brand New Heavies began in 1985 as an instrumental acid jazz group called Brother International. The group came up with the Heavies name after signing their first record contract, borrowing from a liner note on a James Brown single declaring the artist "Minister of New Super Heavy Funk". As The Brand New Heavies they gained a cult following in the London club scene and soon signed to Cooltempo as acid jazz replaced rare groove in clubs. The band issued a debut recording for Eddie Piller's Acid Jazz label in 1990 with Jay Ella Ruth as lead singer.
