MALCOLM IX - The lost sessions - Just when I was preparing to quit the game cos of all the bull shit and politics in the Nigerian music scene for the umpteenth time, I got pulled back in by a couple of friends and some die hard fans always buzzing me, sending emails, text messages, calling ma mobile phone (how they get ma number?) and poppin up on yahoo messenger.
I couldn't take it anymore, so I quickly assembled some old tracks I did over the years and collabos, laced a few new joints and bingo! … the album was ready. I had to find a marketer who believed in me. and I got one TJOE the guy who handled Two shots album agreed to market the mix tape even though it aint your average Nigerian rap thing with a lot of broken English and simple lyrics...he still wanted to sell it!!! big up!!!
I get industry people walk up to me and tell me “yeah yeah we know you're ill en shit but you gotta come down to the lay mans level ..make your lyrics simple” ...en I'm like fuck that!!! Pardon my French! some even try to force me to rap in broken English. I did that 5 years ago 1999. I got nothing against it...Hell, am a still doubt its gotta be lyrical ! didnt do much of it on the MALCOLM IX mixtape cos its a band wagon thing now, and I aint trying to jump on.
For the past 4 years I got friends en associates tell me that I aint gonna sell in Nigeria that I should go to the US or England(where I was born) ...but I'm one hella stubborn punk!!!
I'm out to prove all of em wrong!!!!!!!

I was chillin at home listening to some joints by this cat called Callen he sings soft rock. Then all of a sudden he offers to produce a joint for me...so I go to the studio the next week to hear the beat and...........I didn't like it, told him to play around with the Xzibit paparazzi beat and presto he hooks it up in ten minutes. I did my three verses and bounced. After that he called me like 3 weeks later en I heard the ill chorus he hooked up and I spazed out!!!

3. SOUNDS OF THE BLACKNESS - Mo Dogg! Ft Modenine, produced by freestyle (2003)
There's this ill kid I know en he was like, he wanted to do a track wit me so I followed him to freestyles crib and we did ...recorded with a PC mic funny huh.
4. FLAWLESS - produced by his lab listening to joints… en all of a sudden he's in a zone and he made the beat, trust me, I always have a ready rhyme…
5. YOU CANT FUCK WIT DIS ft. blast, produced by blast (2004)
Blast!! That's ma man; he hooked up the beat en everybody was like “nah! Modenine wont spit on this, cos28.09.04e again Dr Ninestien the unpredictable proved everybody wrong. The chant towards the end of the track was done in the Hausa language and you best believe it ...that shit deep!
6. FREESTYLE SESSION ft Sanchez, produced by G-lynx (2004)
I was gonna do some stuff with a kat called GAMEOVER from Benin and this track was gonna be one of the tracks on the album. He got his kid brother Sanchez to do the 1st verse, he's ok. The whole track was complete in less than 4 hours.
7. HEAD - Baron ft Modenine & Terry tha Rapman, produced by Baron (2003)
We were at home and Baron came up with this slow beat with a sped up sample. I thought it sounded like head so we quickly wrote verses me, terry en baron , OD wanted to write a verse too but he was too bizzy with his girl friend so we finished the track without him.
8. TWO SHOTS FROM A NINE - Two Shots ft Modenine, produced by Eldee (2002)
Ma man two had just broken up with his partner Twoply (The Foremen) and he was kinda down. So when he asked me to do the track wit him I couldn't say no. Eldee hooked the beat up en once again the PC mic
9. 419 STATE OF MIND ft OD, produced by Seth (2004)
Hooked up wit a very young producer called Seth, Callen's protégé through Blast en we knocked this joint out in 4 hours. It's about advance fee fraud I've been getting a lot of 419 email lately.

11. FORMIDABLE produced by G-lynx (2003)
This was the second song I did with Game over produced by G-lynx I came up with the samples and lynx did his magic. I'm battling the end of the world on this one.

Was supposed to be a 32 bar freestyle, but when we fixed the sample I decided to add one more verse (Kategori is the same thing as category)
13. NOBODY produced by Baron (2003)
DJ humility from rhythm 93.7 Lagos called me one afternoon that he's hooking up a mix tape and he'll like me to drop a joint on it, so I told Mr. Baron to hook one fruity loop sample done by animal en some other guys and it was on...straight battling.
14. CROWD CONTROL produced by Baron (2003)
Baron was going crazy on the PC again!!! I just wrote 3 verses and bugged him till he recorded the track I had to bug him till he recorded me ha-ha...then I added the crowd noise myself.
15. ITS ABOUT TO GET UGLY REMIX FT ELDEE produced By Eldee (2002)
I was in Lagos for a while hanging out with Eldee, we got in a zone en he hooked up a beat en dumped the original accapella on it boom the remix
16. QUEST FREESTYLE produced by G-lynx (2004)
G-lynx has a bit of Pete Rock in him. This beat was one of them instrumentals you hear after a song. no vocals but I'm thought it was too tight so I looped it myself and took it to quest media en spat three 32 bar verses on it . It was awesome.
17. ORISUNA BASEMENT FREESTYLE produced by G - lynx (2004)
On the 24th of January i went to Lynx's house in Kubwa in ABUJA FCT. He had just come back from South Africa with new equipment and he was renovating his studio so his pc was at home. I spat two 32 bar verses just to test the mic after forcing lynx to burn it unmixed & hollow I dumped it on the album.
18. 150 BARS produced by Modenine (2002)
I was messing around with the pc one morning only cos Baron had worked all night and was sleeping. Hooked up a beat on fruity loops, voiced on cool edit (some ninth wonder shit) I didn't even know how to use it!!! That shit is not mixed.
19. HOLLA BACK OUTRO produced by G-lynx (2004)
Supposed to be the intro ...who cares?
20. SMALL BOY produced by Baron (2002)
Probably the oldest joint and the worst mix....whut mix it was supposed to be a joke, it's the only track on the mixtape that got some broken English in it. And also has some funny as hell Terry Tha Rapman ad libs in it.
