Spit out the Poison Lyrics

Is there an antidote for what you've lied
The venom creeps and saturate your prideSpit out the poison
Get it out, get it out of me, get it out
Spit out the poison
Get it out, get it out of me, get it outEverything I try to do you stand and scrutinize
Insult me with your venom, I believed your lies
But no longer will I be willing
To sit back and keep chillingI'm coming for you, you hear what I say
Inside a tomb in a grave I won't lay
Believe your hype no not me no no way
You make me sick I gottaSpit out the poison
Draw the venom out, you gotta draw it out
Spit out the poison
Draw the venom out, you gotta draw it outSlaughter my confidence with the harmful words you say
Too long you tore me up left me in disarray
Always bringing me down and filling
My mind and my soul you're not killingI'm coming for you, you hear what I say
Inside this grave in a tomb I won't lay

Believe your hype no not me no no way
I'm coming for you, spit out the poisonIs there an antidote for what you've lied
The venom creeps and saturate your prideSpit out the poison
Draw the venom out, you gotta draw it out
Spit out your poison
Before it kills youSpit out the poison
Draw the venom out, you gotta draw it out
Spit out your poison
Before it kills youIs there an antidote for what you've lied
The venom creeps and saturate your prideSpit out the poison
Draw the venom out, you gotta draw it out
Spit out your poison
Before it kills youSpit out the poison
Draw the venom out, you gotta draw it out
Spit out your poison
Before it kills youGet it out, get it out of me, get it out
Get it out, get it out of me, get it out

Skindred is a four-piece "ragga metal" band from Newport, Wales. Their genre is an innovative mix of metal, punk, and reggae. The band was formed in 1999 following the disbandment of vocalist Benji Webbe's previous band, Dub War and his one-off side-project mass mental? featuring Robert Trujillo (Suicidal Tendencies, Infectious Grooves, Metallica) released the year prior.

The band initially came together with three of the four Dub War veterans with Jeff Rose and Martin Ford returning alongside Webbe, along with new bassist Daniel Pugsley. The group released their debut LP Babylon in July 2002, with sporadic success in parts of Europe and the U.S. metal underground. However after suffering years of indifference and waning support from Earache Records with Dub War and now seeing the same lack of label support from RCA for Skindred, Rose and Ford amicably left the band in November of 2002, but would continue to offer their support.

Soon Webbe had hooked up with guitarist Mikey Dee, and drummer Dirty Arya and continued on, but it wasn't until a year or so later and Lava Records' involvement that the album really took off. Skindred re-released Babylon in August 2004. Lava's version featured different cover art, and included newly recorded material in addition to the original, Howard Benson-helmed songs. Skindred then headed out on a series of tours with acts like Sevendust, Nonpoint, and Papa Roach, and never looked back.
