Stare Into the Sun Lyrics

He never closed his eyes
Or so we theorized
But we were young and bold
He was mostly old
And his time nearly doneHe came back from a war
On some forgotten shore
And sat and watched the world
And never said a word
And so I asked for oneWatching waiting
Old man, tell me what have we become, oh oh
Anticipating all the hating that was yet undone
He turned around and stared into the sun, ohHe fought for things so clear
And never thought he'd fear
A brother or his child or killing having style
Watch the colors runWatching waiting
Old man, tell me what have we become, oh yeah
Anticipating all the hating that was yet undone
He turned around and stared into the sun, oh yeahAnd now he only hears

His eyes they only tear
So tread most carefully
For he's still listening
Watch the colors runWatching waiting
Old man, tell me what have we become, oh yeah yeah
Anticipating all the hating that was yet undone
He turned around and stared into the sun

Savatage is a heavy metal/progressive metal band founded by the brothers Jon and Criss Oliva in 1979. The band is known for recording many rock operas. Early on, Savatage was a traditional heavy metal band, who stood out from the pack due to guitarist Criss Oliva's uncommonly heavy riffing and vocalist Jon Oliva's unique vocal stylings. Following the failure of Fight for the Rock, an attempt to commercialize their sound, Savatage began moving in a more operatic direction, releasing a number of rock opera albums in collaboration with producer Paul O'Neill.
