Stares Lyrics

Can someone explain to me why
Everyone's in such a hurry to say goodbye?
A rush into the finish line
With no time to spare
I'm not a loner, I'm a miracle
So go, save yourself
I'm not alone because you're never there
Well, I chose to, I chose to take the stairs
We are all nothing but cheap wine
In the rush to become so fine
Ferment, grow old, live fast and die
With not a moment to spare
I'm not a loner, I'm a miracle
So go, save yourself
I'm not alone because you're never there
Well, I chose to, I chose to take the stairs
Time is of the essence
One step at a time

Don't fall from the ledge, my friend
Following the blind
Time is an illusion
Fifth dimension's glare
Nothing in this life is free
But the complimentary stares
I'll accompany my own way
For me, not you, not we
Judge me now, jury
I just can't fake anymore
I've got no time to spare
It's like you're losing control
That's why I'll just take the stares
Stares
(Time is of the essence)
Stares
(Time is of the essence)
Stares
(Time is of the essence)
Stares
(Time is of the essence)
Stares
(Time is of the essence)

Hailing from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Taproot formed in late 1997, and has toured with Deftones, Sevendust, Incubus, and Korn. Taproot's album "Blue Sky Research" was released on 16 August 2005. Their song "Calling" was the official theme song of WWE's Unforgiven pay-per-view event in September 2005. The second single from the album, "Birthday," received minimal radio airtime on the East Coast. In 1997, Taproot sent their demo to Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst. Impressed with their material, he offered to get them a recording contract through Interscope Records.
