Starry Night Lyrics

The pain she felt when she came home
And found he wasn't all alone
The pain it was too much for one to bearShe cried out and yelled at him,
"How could you have let her in
My love's only for you and you don't care"He took off after the fight
And drove into the starry night
There was nowhere else that he could goWhat he did wasn't fair
But he could never go back there
To show a weakness he could not controlStars shine so bright
Moon glows alight
After the snow
Stars shining down
What do they say
What do they knowShe woke up on the couch
Stretched her arms and thought about
She knew soon he would be coming backHe woke up inside his car
He didn't drive it very far
He remembered what she'd said to himStars shine so bright

Moon glows alight
After the snowStars shining down
What do they say
What do they know
She started to want him home
She wiped her tears
Turned on her phone
She counted all the messagesStars shine so bright
Moon glows alight
After the snowStars shining down
What do they say
What do they know

Spain was formed in Los Angeles in 1993 by Josh Haden (son to jazz legend Charlie Haden). The group released three albums: The Blue Moods of Spain, She Haunts My Dreams and I Believe. Spirituals – The Best of Spain is a collection of some of their most poignant songs (+ two never before released and three live versions). Their song "Spiritual" was covered by Johnny Cash on his 1996 Unchained album, and by Soulsavers on their 2007 release It's Not How Far You Fall, It's the Way You Land.
