Starting Over Lyrics

No matter how far and long I go it always feels like I'm starting over
Get it down, chalk it up then I'm right back to starting over
Thought I had it all figured out, turns out I was only starting over
Back to one, take two, on the count of three I'm starting over
One step at a time in a drunken B-line
If I lose, if I'm winnin', I wind up right back at the beginin'
It all seems so damn familiar but then again I'm starting over
get it down, chalk it up then I'm right back to starting over
The Phoenix will rise, just like the tide
I could put out the flames with the tears I've cried
so I swallow my pride all the way back down, down, down
The dove came back with a branch in its beak, hallelujah, we're starting over
Like groundhog's day, on instant replay once again we're starting over

[Solo break]
The Phoenix will rise, just like the tide
I could put out the flames with the tears I've cried
so I swallow my pride all the way back down, down, down
No matter how far and long I go it always feels like I'm starting over
Get it down, chalk it up then I'm right back to starting over
One step at a time in a drunken B-line
If I lose, if I'm winnin', I wind up right back at the beginin'
Get it down, chalk it up, there's nothing like starting over
Get it down, chalk it up, I'm talking about starting over
Back to one, take two, on the count of three I'm starting over
Get it down, chalk it up, then I'm right back to starting over.
