Step Out of the Boat - Deborah Malena

Step Out of the Boat Lyrics

(Well) You’ve got to step out of the boat if you want to walk on water.
You’ve got to step out of the boat if you want to walk on water.
Take that step of faith and trust in God your father.
You’ve got to step out of the boat if you want to walk on water.
1. When Peter saw Jesus on the water he said, “Lord can I give it a try.”
He said, “Keep your eyes on me my friend, and I won’t let you die.”
Just take that step of faith you see, cause it’s the hardest thing to do.
You’ve got to say a prayer and bravely go, to live a life anew.
(Well) You’ve got to step out of the boat if you want to walk on water.
You’ve got to step out of the boat if you want to walk on water.
Take that step of faith and trust in God your father.
You’ve got to step out of the boat if you want to walk on water.
2. Well I’ve got to hand it to Peter he boldly went where no man had gone.
He was fine for a little while, till he realized what he had done.
He took his eyes off his Lord and friend and he sank into the deep.

But the master reached out to him and said, “Thanks for making that leap!”
(Well) You’ve got to step out of the boat if you want to walk on water.
You’ve got to step out of the boat if you want to walk on water.
Take that step of faith and trust in God your father.
You’ve got to step out of the boat if you want to walk on water.
3. Well it’s time for you to take that step like Peter and the others before.
For the first step of a journey is the hardest and what’s more...
Just remember that the Lord is always there to pick you up &say well done.
But He can’t take your very first step, you are the only one.
(Well) You’ve got to step out of the boat if you want to walk on water.
You’ve got to step out of the boat if you want to walk on water.
Take that step of faith and trust in God your father.
You’ve got to step out of the boat if you want to walk on water.
