Stop Breathin' Lyrics

Got struck by the first volley
Of the war in the corps
Never held my serviceSend 'em a wire, give 'em my best
This ammunition never rests
No one serves coffee, no one wakes upStop breathin', stop breathin'
Breathin' for me now
Write it on a postcard
Dad they broke me
Dad they broke meStop breathin', stop breathin'
Breathin' for me now
Write it on a postcard
Dad they broke me
Dad they broke meI can see the lines open shutters
And the leaves flocked on a grid
That's what they made my hero say
But nothin' gets me off so completelyThen when you put it down
Ten feet down in the ground
Call and response, negative homeStop breathin', stop breathin'

Breathin' for me now
Write it on a postcard
Dad they broke me
Dad they broke meStop breathin', stop breathin'
Breathin' for me now
Write it on a postcard
Dad they broke me

Pavement are an American indie rock band that formed in Stockton, California in 1989. For most of the period to 1999, the band consisted of Stephen Malkmus (vocals, guitar), Scott "Spiral Stairs" Kannberg (guitar, vocals), Mark Ibold (bass), Steve West (drums) and Bob Nastanovich (percussion, vocals). During that period, and since, they have frequently been described as one of the most influential bands to emerge from the American underground of the '90s. While their split in 1999 was reportedly rather acrimonious, they undertook a well-received reunion tour during 2010.
