Storms Are on the Ocean Lyrics

I'm goin' away to leave you, love
I'm goin' away for a while
I'll come back to you sometime
If I go ten thousand milesThe storms are on the ocean
The heavens may cease to be
This world may lose it's motion love
If I prove false to theeOh, who'll shoe your pretty little feet
And who'll glove your hand
And who'll kiss your rosy cheeks
When I'm in a far off landThe storms are on the ocean
The heavens may cease to be
This world may lose it's motion love
If I prove false to theeOh, have you seen those mournful doves
Flying from pine to pine
They're mourning for their own true love
Just like I mourn for mineThe storms are on the ocean
The heavens may cease to be
This world may lose it's motion love

If I prove false to thee

Ralph Stanley (born in 25 February 1927) is an American bluegrass musician. Stanley was born in Big Spraddle Creek, Virginia, near Stratton, Dickenson County, Virginia, USA. The son of Lucy and Lee Stanley, Ralph Edmond Stanley grew up in rural southwestern Virginia. Ralph learned to play the banjo claw-hammer style from his mother. It was her inspiration, coupled with Ralph's natural ability, which led Ralph and his older guitar-playing brother Carter to form the Stanley Brothers Band in 1946 after his service abroad during World War 2.
