Strike It Rich Lyrics

I'm going to strike it rich
I'm going to get my lucky break
And play a game of give and take
I'm going to strike it rich.I'm gonna make a pile of money
To spend on my honey
I feel so good it's kind of funny
I've got that lucky itch.I'm going to strike it rich.
I'll get a good new cablegram
And live as care free as the king of Siam
I'm much to lucky to get stranded
I'm going to win out single handed
I'm going to strike it rich, so very rich I am.
We're going to strike it rich
We're going to get our lucky break
And play a game of give and take
We're going to strike it rich. We're gonna make a pile of money
Life sweeter than honey
We feel so good it's kind of funny

We've got that lucky itch.
We're going to strike it rich.
We'll get a good new cablegram
And live as care free as the king of Siam
Today the sun is shinging brighter
Today our hearts are feeling lighter
We're going to strike it rich, oh yes, so very rich. We're going to hit the road and strike it rich...

Jim Reeves (1923 - 1964), known affectionately as 'Gentleman Jim', was a country singer known for his velvety voice. Through his unique style, which fused the laidback style of crooners such as Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby with country material, he brought country music to a whole new audience. He was also one of the first to bring country music to places outside of America, gaining widespread popularity in Britain, Europe, South Africa and India.

His prolific career was cut tragically short in 1964 by a plane crash. However, even after his death, his popularity did not wane and he continued to have hits some years after his death, with previously unreleased songs and remastered earlier material.

Added 01: One interesting fact was that he recorded an album in Afrikaans for Afrikaners in South Africa. How do I know? I bought the LP many years ago.
